This is the tree that I absolutely-had-to-have-or-I-would-never-make-it-through-the-decorating-saga-known-as...
Decorating for the holidays!
Disclaimer: I resist using the "C" word in decorating as I am very aware that Christmas would not lose it's meaning one bit if for some reason I had no tree at all... nor decorations.
I am in a major dither of frustration...
?How to decorate a pewter-colored tree?
In my mind I thought I had the color scheme figured out, but
that did not mean it WAS.
Notice the Persian rug on the floor of the room?
I figure the colors should at least blend with it.
Am I correct?
I am counting on your opinion...
so here is your chance.
I have reached my limit of imagination.

for Mosaic Monday
P.S. I should add that I have always had a traditional green tree.. although artificial. Lesson I have learned here... when making a drastic change as I have done.. have a plan! ;-)

I have no idea what to tell you. I had always used a green tree and my same old same olds for so long I never bothered to change the theme. My kiddos would have had a fit. Now days I just have a prelit tree and it spins around. I bet it will look good no matter what you do. The mosaic is so pretty.

I've always had a real, green tree, so I'm not sure if I can help. The rug is gorgeous...I think you can pull a lot of colors out of it! Let us see what you do!
XO,

Oh my, I have a green artificial tree that I have had for the last 9 or so years:) I will put it up again! It looks almost real! I had real trees before I bought this one! The older I get, the more I think that having a SMALL tree wouldn't be sooooo bad! Have a blessed day, hope you get it all figured out! I'll take the RUG, will that help? hehe! HUGS!
I think it looks like a pretty tree! I'm sure you'll come up with something smashing!
I think the tree is lovely, and maybe you could add colors from the rug, which is beautiful. I love the tree. My main tree is green, traditional all the way. I'm going to add some other trees this year so we'll see how it goes. Have fun with it.

I love that tree! You could pick up some of the pink/red tones in the rug with some silver ornaments. You could even tuck some poinsettias or flower sprays into the branches. And really...the pic you show looks pretty with just the lights!
Thank you for you sweet comment on my post about decorating with clutches!

All I can say is without 'The Plan' you can do what I do...Fly by the Seat of Yore Britches! You have the perfect color tree to just about any Theme. It sure looks pretty in the mosaic.
Thanks for visiting CITexas gal and reading my Rattlesnake, Sidewinder and Flyin' Contraptions story. I'll be watching for your ancestors photos and your family stories....Sue
The traditionalist in me says go with shiny red and green. It's Christmas- it doesn't have to match your rug.
Then looking at your rug, I think some large navy blue ornaments with little lighter blue accents...
I'm sure anything you do will be beautiful!
Oh Karen, how fun to try something new and have a new and different tree! Well, I have rust, golds and browns in my rug and I use red and green! I think you should just create what you want, pick your favorite colors and run with it! :) I can't wait to see what you decide!

Wow. I have never seen a pewter colored tree before. I probably would call it silver. My tree's are always fresh with a mess afterwards.
From looking at the rug I would think cranberry would be beautiful..
I tried to enlarge your photo's but couldn't so it's hard to tell the real color that is deep in your rug but from looking at your decor I have a feeling you will come up with something stunning!
Is your tree up already? Really?
:) What a smarty!!
I am so anxious to get started!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Mona
It looks amazing!
Whatever you do will be wonderful-
