Fields of Yellow!
There were roughly 2,000 acres of these sunflowers.
We had seen a beautiful crop of them months back and they were considerably taller, but due to the drought (Yes, deep south Texas is in a terrible drought) the sunflowers were "stunted". They're still gorgeous to look at though. Yellow is one of my favorite colors so of course I could not get enough of them.
This crop of sunflowers will be harvest and used for the oil.

I want to apologize to anyone I was not able to reply to this past week. E-Blogger had erased my latest posting and I was unable to post at all. I know this is not uncommon and thank goodness with a little patience all was repaired. Now I just have some catching up to do!

Very nice. We never see them growing in such abundance here, though I am sorry that they are stunted and that Texas is in such a nasty drought.

I really don't understand why some parts have drought and some parts are flooded. But yes the sunflower are gorgeous and just wish that this year I could be able to visit a sunflower farm here in MI. Great shot and thanks for sharing!

Last year when we went to see our son and daughter-in-law in Colorado, we passed acres and acres of sunflowers. I was just amazed to see so many. They were absolutely beautiful, so I know how much you enjoyed seeing these! I'm sorry that you are having trouble with blogger. For some reason, I cannot see some posts and I cannot put a background on mine, because I lose my posts if I do. It is so frustrating. There are a couple of blogs that I love to visit, but I cannot "see" them. I've e-mailed them and they say that others are responding with their comments, so it has to be mine. I hate that. I may just stop blogging!

I had to read your last posts cause I've missed them before and I just wanted to tell you that here in Sweden mother's day is always the last Sunday in May!! Funny how different it is around the world.

Hi again! How lovely you work on your DH's family tree. I have heard of Cavallin but can't remember where or when?! Do you know where they come from in Sweden?
I too work on my family tree and some relatives emigrated to USA in the 1800 but their names weren't Cavallin. I will try and find them too when I've come that far.
