White Wednesday -- thinking Christmas
Laura at White Spray Paint had a posting today that reminded me of my first Christmas decorating attempt after a November of remodel in my home. This was the
first time I used white! I truly loved it. Now I realize
that I should have inserted some colored balls on the
bottle brush tree... but that's okay... this year I will!
Going through some of my mother's Christmas decorations
I found some small Christmas tree balls that I must find a way to use. They are so "old-timey".
The biscotti you see in this picture is my mother's
recipe. Yummmm!
We will spend Thanksgiving in Mexico this year, so
I am going to attempt to do some Christmas decorating
before flying down there. We'll see...

Christmas is just around the corner. We went shopping for the grandkidos tonight. It was so much fun shopping for them. Sounds like you are getting ready for the holidays too. Hope your trip to Mexico is a really happy one with your son and his family.
Have fun decorating, it sounds like a good time to do it. And have a great Thanksgiving too..come say hi ;D
Beautiful even without colored balls:) I love white too! I see so many are getting Christmasy... not me! I can't wait to hear all about your trip for Thanksgiving! FUN, FUN, FUN! Have a blessed day! HUGS!
Very pretty little house. Happy WW! That tree would look pretty with or without colored balls!

I love the look of white at Christmas. Growing up, my mother came up with different "themes" through the years. Now so much reminds me of her.
Thanks so much for the information on a family tree program. I've already looked at it and have bookmarked the spot for further reading. I'm almost committed to starting this project after the holidays. Thanks, too, for the offer of help. I'm sure I'll need it.
Have you read Jan's latest book? I gave it to my friend that I visited in Virginia last month as a hostess gift but I haven't read it myself. I've been known to jump right into her books and read them in a few sittings. At other times, I dangle them in front of myself as a treat for some job well done.
Best,
Bonnie
I love the little, tiny and old-fashioned coloured balls - on a bottle brush tree or in a glass bowl. Lucky you to have found some!
Thanks, Karen!
As for the new Karon series, I did read the first book. I had to get over "Mitford" to do so. I must say it was a little like "At Home in Mitford" as I gave up on that--boring, boring (or so I thought). I was encouraged to continue with that book and am so happy that I did. I ended up liking "Home to Holly Springs" better that I thought I would.
Best,
Bonnie
"Home...." is a present/prior day look at Father Tim's life. It does explain his childhood and his relationship with his father. There is a major surprise for him in Holly Springs. I think the second book takes him to Ireland to retrace some roots there. I'd encourage you to read the first one first. What are your Mitford friends saying? As for me, I'd still like to be in Mitford. I'm missing Fancy and Dooley and Esther--well, all of my friends.
Best,
Bonnie
You're so awesome. I haven't even started to pull out Christmas decorations from the closet. I'm so focused on our Diaz Festivos next month. I hope we get to see you there. It is Dec 3rd - 5th. We have a corner booth.
Take care and Happy Thanksgiving!

Karen,
White is always so eye catching! How nice you have some vintage Christmas balls of your mothers. I can't believe we are so close to Thanksgiving already. My sister flew in to help with my daughter Heather and we are thinking we will probably be eating at the hospital, but that is fine with us.
Hugs, Cathy
What lovely treasures, Karen. Yes, we will be decorating feverishly for our Christmas celebrations, won't we. I love it.
Have a beautiful & blessed Thanksgiving holiday.

Up until yesterday I hadn't even thought about Thanksgiving. I think I might be in trouble. :)
